Yacht Charters in Hawaii
by Eric Petersen |
A Hawaii yacht charter is an incredible experience and
one of the most amazing ways to enjoy the beauty of the
Aloha State. It's not as expensive as you might think,
and the experience is something you will never forget.
One of the often overlooked ways to enjoy a vacation to
Hawaii is to charter a luxury yacht for a private
cruise.
There are many options for boat rentals in Hawaii, but
they are typically old, rusty boats that are jam packed
with tourists. Not exactly the best way to enjoy a
vacation in paradise.
Luckily, there is an alternative. There are a number of
luxury yachts in Hawaii (especially on the island of
Oahu) that can take you for a private cruise far away
from the sunburned hordes. Once the exclusive domain of
the super rich, luxury boats can now be rented by the
hour for a lot less money than you might think.
There is a large range of yachts available for charter
ranging from luxury sail boats to vintage motor yachts.
A yacht charter broker can help you find the perfect
boat to meet your needs, based on the size of your
group, your budget and what you would like to do. Some
luxury boats book months in advance, so don't wait until
you are in Hawaii to book your charter or your boat may
already be booked. Typically, one half of the total
charter price is required to reserve a yacht charter.
When you book a private yacht charter, you're the boss.
The departure time and itinerary are completely up to
you. Plan your own sightseeing charters, sunset cruises
or even luxury dinner cruises with a private chef. Most
boats have a two hour charter minimum, which is about
the right amount of time for most people. If you are a
seasoned sailor or want to enjoy a more leisurely dinner
cruise, book your boat for a three hour charter. With a
little imagination you can create an adventure that will
be one of the most memorable highlights of your vacation
in Hawaii.
For a real adventure you can book an inter-island
cruise. The trade winds in Hawaii generally blow from
east to west, so this is the preferred direction to
travel for the smoothest sailing. As a rule of thumb,
it takes about 12 hours to travel between neighboring
islands; from Big Island to Maui, Maui to Oahu, and
Oahu to Kauai. The Maui to Oahu journey is the best, as
it is smooth sailing and can travel (upon your
specification) down the dramatic north shore of
Molokai. This unpopulated shoreline features the
tallest sea cliffs in the world, with lush valleys and
waterfalls flowing into the sea. A true unspoiled
paradise.
Yacht charters have also become increasingly popular in
Hawaii as locations for wedding ceremonies, wedding
receptions and corporate events. A private charter
provides an unforgettable alternative to the hotel
banquet room routine, and the largest boats can
accommodate up to eighty passengers. The shared
experience of being together on a unique, private
charter is a great way for people to bond with each
other away from the tourist crowds, traffic and towering
hotels.
Vacations are all about creating lasting memories. For
a little extra money and imagination you can experience
the beautiful waters of Hawaii away from the crowds and
have another great story to tell when you get back home.
